New York Giants vs San Francisco 49ers NFL Point Spread Picks

The New York Giants travel out to the west coast this week to take on a San Francisco team that has been motoring along. The 49ers just keep beating people, using their brand of tough football to control the clock and the run game. Meanwhile, the Giants have been a surprise, too. They went into New England last weekend and shocked a good Patriots team. Can they keep that going on Saturday and knock off the 49ers? That is a tough question to answer, but it is one that we will have to deal with before we can make our NFL picks. If you are asking me, then I say the San Francisco team will continue to take care of business. 

The issue for the Giants is one of a letdown. They put all of their might into the game at New England last week. They talked a good game all week and backed it up. That was all well and good, but how will they be able to pick  back up the emotion for a cross country trip? Will they have enough in the tank to give a great effort on the west coast? The Giants have traveled well over the last five years. They typically cover on the road. This is a different spot, though. This is the kind of spot where the Giants will have a tough time matching the intensity of a San Francisco team that you know is going to bring the heat.

 

The 49ers are consistent. They are not flashy, but they have lots of weapons. They play awesome defense and force many three and outs. I see them taking control of this game with their physicality. They will continue to run the football on the Giants and break their spirit. Though Eli Manning could have a great day and win it for the Giants, I don’t think that is going to happen. Simply put, this is too tough a spot for a Giants team that will not play its best ball. If you are serious about winning with your NFL picks this weekend, then you have to give the 49ers a long, hard look in this game.
