NFL Picks – Houston vs Cincinnati
The Texans won last week, much to the surprise of many people who made their NFL picks the other way. Who would have thought that Houston and TJ Yates could knock off a good Atlanta team? Some did and they capitalized with their NFL picks. This week, Houston tries to keep it going again when they head up to Cincinnati. The Bengals have been good this year, but they have struggled a little bit lately. Still, on the strength of a good defense and home field advantage, they are a three point favorite in this game. Can Andy Dalton and his group knock off a bunch of motivated Texans? Or is this another time when the Texans surprise the betting public?
This game will turn on how well the Texans can run the football. Simply put, they aren’t going to be able to throw very well against a Bengals defense that has stopped the pass all season. Now, the Texans come in with Yates under center and no Andre Johnson. Though Yates looked good in limited action one week ago, he will have a hard time getting things done on the road in this game. It is the type of game where the Texans will need to control the line of scrimmage if they want to have any chance. So can they do it? The last few weeks tell us that it’s going to be hard for any team to stop the Houston running game.
Even without Andre Johnson, this feels like the kind of game where Houston has a chance. They play good enough defense that Andy Dalton and company will have a very difficult time handling them. This sets up to be a very low scoring game. In those kinds of games in the NFL, it always pays to have your NFL picks on the teams getting the points. You can get a field goal here and it might come in handy. If the line moves out to 3.5, this is certainly a spot where you would want to make NFL picks on the Texans.
